Job Opening | Temporary Lecturer in Philosophy

The department of Philosophy at UC San Diego invites applications for a temporary lecturer to teach undergraduate courses in ethics, history of philosophy, or philosophy in general. This includes leading classes, assessment of student work, meeting with students outside of class in office hours and/or appointments if relevant, supervising teaching assistants, creating a syllabus, and maintaining a class website on Canvas. The appointments may vary from part time to full time. The position is available starting Winter Quarter 2026 through Spring Quarter 2026.

Basic qualifications (required at time of application):

A reasonable salary range estimate for this position is $68,247-$72,404. The posted UC academic salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and/or step at appointment. See the following table for salary scale for this position.
